Does listerine really preserve ?

My BF got flowers delivered to me, they were a day late because of the hurricane and everything and when they arrived they were sorta wilted. BUT I think I revived them. They look great now. I just want them to last as long as possible. I heard that putting listerine in the water will make it last longer. there's a total of 8 roses as well as some other lillies. one of the roses is lookin pretty dead already. should I go ahead and put in the listerine? or should I just hang them now.. ALSO.. should I spray hairspray on it so it lasts longer?
